The Nickname Story:

In 1995, during the Miami University vs on Cincinnati football game. It was the 100 th game between the two schools. It’s the oldest rivalry college football game west of the Allegheny Mountains.

Back then, football games could not end in a tie. There were no overtimes. Cincinnati scored with 18 seconds left in the game to tie the game up 31-31.

Cincinnati kicked off and Ty King ran it back for a touchdown. That play became known as the “Ty-breaker”, and they still show that highlight at Oxford.
